I been in love with band for as long as I can rememebr. I have a problem though. I'm used to high stepping marching show bands. That was the type of band I was in in high school. Right now, I'm in a corps style band and I DO NOT like it because it doesn't give me that adrenaline rush like the band that I'm used to. My dad begged me to go to the school I'm at for a better future. But I want this experience so bad I feel like I'll never be satisfied if I don't get it. Should I finish my 4 yrs at this "prestigious" university and then march? Or is it better the other way around?

To be honest with you as much as I would love to say come and be apart of the "Historical" Black Colleges and Universities. I would first say do what is in your heart, only you can make that decision. Also remember most important that you come to school for education no matter if its at a PWC (prodominant white college) or HBCU.
My background: In H.S. I marched in a corp style band (SVHS) then went to March in an HBCU band (AAMU) I love it!
Right on. Follow ya heart. I attend an HBCU and plan to attend a PWI institution for grad. I think it's one of the most holistic routes to go.

I think that going to school with aspirations to march is a good thing. However, they don't have a major in "Band". Your first priority in college should be to graduate and get the best college education you can afford. Though marching band is a good thing, remember your reason for going to college in the first place.
