I was seeing that there have been no new post up here so I took the liberty to start a new one. Here are my predictions on next years bands:Worthing: Even though I don't see ya'll falling off as far as sound there might be a numbers issue. I am not sure of that feeder situation but as far as I am concerned ya'll the best small band prolly in the state!Yates: see Worthing.Milby: I don't care what they say next year yall should be in beast mode!Austin: See MilbyWestbury: Recruit. Stop letting those schools take your kids. Ya'll are the masters of drill!BTW: IDKJones: see WestburySterling: will continue being one of the top over all bands in the city possibly no matter whatWheatley: I liked yall this year and it was a pleasant surprise to see ya'll at the BTOB's.Madison: ya'll good real good! just clean it up someDavis: (Yes Davis I said it!) I seen a %50 improvement from that MLK parade to the Rodeo. People are lighting a fire under those kids and I don't recall them having a more disciplined (relativley speaking) group than now. Expect some suprises

preciate ya comments, as for the feeder situation. its looking a lil better cuz the job prob gone b open at woodson ms if you know of anyone looking to build a program they are k-8 and NEED a strong director who knows wtf they are doing to get it up and rolling. we really only losing like 5 or 6 people and our percussion, and low brass are set already so now we are just working on other particulars so we can move forward. i think nxt yr gone be our best year cuz the majority of my band is 2010 and they hungry. they want to go out with a bang which is good for me cuz they get to teach the new crabs how we do things so we'll just have to see... ya never know dealing with hisd!!! lol... but i only want 64-88 for next year, but we are going to do some thing diff and see how ppl respond to the changes. we have been recruiting and are looking at building our upper brass line so yea.... we'll see. good luck to all next season. lets get houston back on the map!
I thought that was you! I seen some video with the dancers on youtube playing a cadence That me and my potna James made up in the 90's. It made me feel real good (and old)!

yeah it was me..I had started there in december..early november....and all those kats needed was just motivation..to get up and do better so ..be on the look out for somthing new...that has been seen from this school and A very long while....

Last time I saw Davis, they were pretty good: well disciplined, nice sound.
As for Austin, time will tell. We are still having problems with dedication. This 40-50% quitting every year is annoying as hell. On paper we are well over 100 but I dont know what to expect for next year. This past year we went from 78 to 40 in one week due to parents and just plain BITCHAZZMUTHASUCKERNESS. Also This is the first year we are actually graduating band members too so we have to wait and see.
Worthing, Westbury and North Forest Im predicting will be heavy hitters. They got great programs, good directors and a group of HUNGRY TALENTED STUDENTS... I see success in 09-10 for these.
..WHEN It COMES TO GREATNESS....DA-RIDGE WILL ALWAYS BE DA-RIDGE..AND THAT MEANS...THEY WILL ALWAY BE ON TOP......lately Worthing and Willoridge have been setting the standard for the bands in this city.....lets see if that changes this year....most likely......NOT..LMAONick G said:
