    How do you feel about college bands that copies other college, bands style wise or book wise?
    Do you have respect for their program or not and why?

  • depends on how we are defining the term "mimmick"......If you sayin what I think you are, my thoughts are similar to Fe Fe's comment.
  • Texas College, Albany etc they remind me so much of SU. Trust me there are many more that mimmick SU. I understand Albany State's director is an SU grad but does that mean that his band should look like SU?
  • Yeah, that would be kind of odd if they played us. Albany State was supposed to play us in 2005, but Katrina and Rita messed that up.

  • I can understand maybe having the same style as the other band, but when you start doing the same exact drills and show format as the band, along with playing some of their arrangements, it becomes a big problem. Do something to set yourself apart from the other bands.
  • Look at NSU.. they don't have anything about them that says SU and their director is of an early Greggs Era.. and aside from the fact that general marching concepts werent started at SU.. the WAY its projected by certain bands is SU-Like..
