  • all ic an say is nowadays recruit recruit recruit becuz when ur section has a lot of old heads primarily seniors when they raduate the younger ppl feel lost and feel as if the line wont be good becuause so and so isnt there anymore get freshman and new ppl and keep the process goin and ur section should be straight we had that happen at carter in dallas last yr but we was still good because we knew that we had to suck it up and keep smashing.but now we clean sections out because everybody on the same page and not worried about what happened in the past just moving forward winning trophies.
  • I agree 99% with you Ant but its more to it. First of all P R A C T I C E THATS WHERE ITS AT!!!!! FUNDAMENTALS!!!!!!!!!! Drumlines dont stay on the basics... KISS Keep It Simple Stupid....just a saying used in my practices. I say it because everytime u look around DALLAS drumlines trying to be like the next or sound or look like something. Regardless the style or whats being played its about how u play it and every drummer in every practice should make a commitment to practice and better themselves also as a section. The section leader should be LEADING that means gettin everyone on his or her level. If not better...because you never get tired of trying to be the best. So my message to yall is PRACTICE! And when you practice make sure all the little things that you think dont matter then get on top of it. For example, with snare drummers they must know there rudiments to play and then u have clean sound, stick height, everybody looks the same sounds the same. the m same with quads quints and sixes. Tenors and basses need to be on the same hands and looking and sounding the same. No one does it enuff. Now a days sections in th just dont practice enuff indivisually and as a section. No matter how big or small yo section and if u have a drum instructor or not it is every drummer responsibilty to better themselves as a musician so take pride in what yall doin DTOWN DRUMLINES it aint bout being cold it just about havin fun doing what you love to do and if thos is what you do then do this shit to the fullest. Thats goes for every drummer in Dallas. Im doing a camp for drumlines this summer come out and learn dont matter what drum you play i will teach. Message me for more info. SIMPLE BASIC FUNDAMENTALS. Master that and your section will be the best. PRIDE DEDICATION RESPONSABILTITY RESPECT PASSION DETERMINATION and SKILLS....lol
  • Be tedious and repititious.

  • Well, it's almost impossible in High School.
