How do you feel about people rejecting money? What do you think about college seniors that reject small college bands who offer them full scholarships as oppose to big colleges that other them little or nothing? How do you think these things affect low-income parents? Give me your input!!!

I think a lot of bandsmen reject the money because they have a desire and a certain level of favoritism toward some school. Taking the money is like being bribed.
I think it all depends on what the student wishes to major in and for a lowincome family, thats why there is FASFA n Financial Aid(which in texas, is now becoming very little) and alot of students believe that they will be mocked for attending a smaller college and be in the band program there because they are not well known. They would rather go to that big school wit the big well known band. Then the campus of the school. Cant be successful at a school with a cmpus that you are not comfortable with...reason why i personally did not want to go to Texas A&M for Chemical Engineering because i really did not like the campus or the people there. Instead im going to University of Houston to study Pre-Pharmacy or Chemical Engineering because I want out the country feel and be in the city and since im in a town that is very diverse, i like UoH for that reason.
I'm not taking any sides here. I just want us to have a nice discussion about this. Sometimes taking money is like being bribed, but if you don't get paid for working would you be able to buy gas, buy a car, pay house note, gas bill, etc.? I understand that it's work, but it's it still receiving money for labor. What if there was a choice that someone had to make between 2 colleges? Let's say that the circumstance involved low-income, single parent homes & the only way that person would go to college is if they would accept a scholarship from a small college, but not their favorite college. Some people would actually NOT go to college because it's not number 1 on the list. Why do you think this is? I understand money is not everything, but this world runs off what? MONEY!!! Without money we can't even attend college, lol! Like I said, I'm not trying to prove a point or take sides. I just want to help us be able to think and expand our minds.
Location is a great factor. I think that's the main thing that hurts Valley and Alcorn is the location because both schools are great academically. Back in the day location wasn't a great factor but these days kids think very differently. Some good but most bad and petty.
