once you learn it there's a bunch more features and sounds better imo..
get the trial version at first, because as with anything, some people just have that feeling with specific programs, cars, w/e you wanna relate this analogy to..
so I don't offend... for those others who don't like programs: never forget that you should also be able to do it w/o the program..
I started on sibelius and it was easier at first so if your just starting I would suggest it. Its an overall good program and pretty easy if you haven't been programed to Finale hot keys. Though the sounds do have a bit to be desired
I've used a few different programs. I actually used Sibelius before I ever used Finale. Finale is a more basic program and Sibelius can be quite confusing if you are used to Finale. Once you get used to using Sibelius, I'm sure you'll like it better.
The thing that makes switching even easier these days is the ability to import Finale and Encore files to Sibelius and vice versa. I think this was possibly the biggest argument that you'd lose all of your stuff. Since this is a thing of the past, switching just got a whole lot easier.
I will be looking into switching to Sibelius myself within the next 6 months. I love the way their marching percussion sounds.

its kinda time consuming to try to figure it out
and then when you use the MIDI input feature it sometimes records the wrong thing
