HTOWN MLK BOTB THOUGHTS

First off I congratulate each band.  Having a masters in music I do see some things in each band that is worth an applause!  HOWEVER I am very confused in the BOTB itself. 

 

1.  Why did they give out plaques instead of trophies, after all we paid 15 dollars

 

2.  Why didnt they have categories such as (Best dancers, majorettes, drum major, flags)

 

3.  HOW in the HECK did mckinnely (i may of misspelled it) NOT place,  Clearly they had one of the best shows of the night, does this organization have something against the band itself??  Regan should not have place over them... they ACTUALLY marched

 

These are only my opinions I need some help this BOTB left me LOST!

    They pulled that on them last year...I don't see them coming back to Houston. Because beign first band one deck, they had a tight show!

     

    this BOTB got rid of those catagoires a few years back

     

    and idk why there were no trophies

     

    The event for me was awesome though i do question some of the things the judges do. They started the clock on Jack Yates nearly 2 minutes early!! Thats not a fair call. But alot of bands have improved from last year. But then alot didnt show up, think that was good cuz the band side was running out of room.

    But the minute I see Mr. Collins of Bmt Central roll in a lil late...I'm like okay now its going to be an eventful night. I got out my spot in the snack line to see them perform lol.

    I think the battle was very good. Mckinley should've placed tonight. They were good. WHEN I SAW BEAUMONT CENTRAL come in late from their practice at tsu,i was like this better be good!(which i knew it would be) Everyone did great in my eyes. Cant wait till monday :)

    Yea Mckinley should have placed real T its should have been out of them and Westbury... but congrats to my alma mater for gettin that 1st place trophy.... how about next time let's not get the crowd wet and the bands as well...

    Worthing and Milby do it all the time cuz they have TxSU Arrangments lol. the only band that plays skin is SU and who does both those schools resemble??? SU lol

    so do anyone thin that judges overlook the excellence of mckinnley on purpose >??? or whuts the deal

    yes  I do .... like i said befor this is one of the many reason why I wil never bring my band to this particular botbs again........

     

    now as some of you folks know...............well fr4eak it lets go ahead and put this botbs on blast................

     

    1.) Were was  Jackson states and Alabama A&M band....HUMMMM.. all BS!!!!!

     

    2.) WHY DIDTHEY NOT LET THE BANDS PLAY IN THE STANDS IN BEFOR THE BOTBS.. IT WAS NOT TIME TO START AT ALL....ALL BS.

     

    3.) WHY DO THEY COUNT AUXS SCORES ALONGE WITH THE BAND... WHAT DOSE... AND WHY DOSE THIS HURT A BANDS SCORE AS FAR AS DRILLING......ALL BS......

     

    ALL IN ALL THIS BOTBS WAS ....LOL.....ALL BS......

     

    I WAS THERE AND THE ONLY THING I ENJOYED THE MOST WAS CENTRAL AND WESTBURY BLOWING TOGETHER......

     AND YES A LOT OF BANDS IMPROVE GREATLY ... I WAS SO PROUD OF ALL THE SCHOOL'S

     

    BUT MC'KINLEY DID OUT DRILL EVERY BAND IN THIER DIVISION.. BUT MABYE TO THE FACT THAT AUXS DID NOT DO WELL MY HAVE HURT THERE SCORE ...BECAUSE IF YOU DONT HAVE ALL THREE AUXS YOUR NOT GONNA WIN 1ST PERIOD!!!!!!!

     

    WICH IS AGAIN ALL BS.......SMH

    Great job to evryone who participated. I heard some great reviews. Congrats to my folks at westbury! Proud of u guys, see y'all this summer... I didn't go but of course evrybdy and they momma gave me details step-by-step lol....
