Marching program:
56 trpts- kings
40 trombones- kings- large bore f-attachment, closed wrap
24 bell fronts- kings
24-26 mellophones- kings
20 sousas- silver kings or jupiters
18 saxes- 6 of em tenors
14 c-nets
8 piccs
4 basses
4 tenors
8cymbals
8 snares
3 DM's
or
jazz band big band
6 trpts
4 trombones
9 saxophones- 2 tenors, 1 soprano
1 clarinet
1 flute
1 on d-set, 1 on congas, maracas and chimes, and 1 on marimba, xylophone and timpani when needed
1 bassist
1 guitar
We'd do alot of bop from the blue note era for big band and even some top tunes like Gaye and Terrell, Wonder, etc along with the usual repertoire
I would Stress the Different Playing Techniques because with it comes the style and originality of the players in band... put those forces together to play some songs sand Bam.. our sound is different than yours .. LOL
Then you should really explain what you mean. That's pretty broad asking what kind of program. So I gave numbers and TWO programs I'd prefer to do. Now, do you mean stylistically? Soundwise? Knee-lift? i mean, wtf......
