when you listen to bands what particular instrument do you listen for with original intent?

i.e. i click a video and say man can't wait to hear those F-Horns!! or mello's lol

another question if you could move for a day to a different instrument for rehearsal, what would it be?

I'm a t-bone but I know I would love to play b-tone a few time..

  • I listen for the TBones first.....thats a given...

if i could play another instrument it would prolly be btone
  • well it depends on da band, in general, me i listen for screamin trumpets, den mellos, den 4 btones

nd i would love 2 play a mello.
  • i listen for F-Horns first. Nothing sounds better than some strong F-Horns in a song. If I were to play a different instrument it would be F-Horn, just because i like the sound and to break that little stereotype that a tuba players will play baritone if they switch instruments
  • tbones, cus they give the band a full sound with correct chord structure.nd if i waz 2 switch,it would definetly be Btone, dey can easily produce a full tone.and plus u can get hella loud.lol.two tbones = 1 btone, das wat i think.
  • i listen for the bones lol
if i could switch it would be tuba.
  • i listen for c l e a n loud mellos ..i play sax so if i could switch for a day id be a fhorn player :)
  • Same here for b-tone..and switch to cymbals
  • I agree, I can't wait to hear mellos. To me they just add that extra BOOM to a song. Sometime, it depends on the band. Ex: when it's a SU video, I listen for Mellos and T-pets off top. If it was a TxSU or Alcorn video, for some reason I'm attracted to the Tubas. If I could switch instruments for a day, it would definitely be Sousaphone. I always dreamed of play that.
  • now thats the first time i've hear of a jump like that. why cymbals?

  • the bell is bigger which gives out more sound.....the PLAYER of a trombone might technically be louder than a baritone PLAYER....but the instrument itself isn't louder than a baritone horn....just like a tuba HORN is louder than a baritone HORN
