Yes I did march under Doc era. And doc Era was awesome!!! At the same time unlike many schools we hire from within. So our current band directors march under Doc and understand everything he was executing. Now at the end of the day the core of the band will be the same Great sounding powerful band that can drill its azz off but there will always be subtle differences when any band director takes over. When Mr. J Leaves the band will not be exactly like Mr. J bands nor Doc or Ludwig.... But it will be Southern University ...... All alumni should be extremely proud that 10,20, 30 years after you left your school is still dominating . And as an adult alumni being proud of that and giving back to support the program should be your main priority.... Let's stop all of this stuff and talk about something that's meaningful.
