From the beginning of football season O.Perry Walkers Marching Band, had shown potential of being the best band in the N.O, and as we all witnessed from the parades of mardi gras 2011, their is no doubt at all that O.Perry Walker is the best band in "Land"/NewOrleans!.....and CongratulationsMr.Wilbert Rawlins, for producing such a wonderful band!
I give it to Walker, they did there thing this year but you can not claim your the best yet. Don't get me wrong i enjoy Walker and love how they sound but on they are lacking that one area that if they improve they could be number one and we all know thats on the field.
Not the best, may be the second best. You have to bring it all year to be the best and you did not do that. (field shows). As for parade season, you were caught sleeping at times!!!.
Why is there a need for this? Its almost like you guys have never won anything before, because u bragg on how u won one particular event. I'll give u guys props, u won the alla battle, but that's it, and judging from all of the clips of St. Aug in concert formation I would even say that u guys are fortunate that they didn't get into concert formation, because the tread would more than likely read differently. However, I'm not going to make excuses, but I will say learn how to do a fieldshow first, and then u might be able to call yourselves #1. Until then, u guys are a stand still and blow band, which makes u no different than any other band in the city. In other words, St. Aug is the only band in the city that can compete in other cities in all three phases of marching band (fieldshows, stands, and parades). Think about this way; the Lakers might have a few defeats, but in the end they still come up with the crown.

People should judge a band based on the Fieldshows (Drilling, Marching, and Formations)....Sound quality, Song Selection(Not having the same songs in your list for five years straight), and having there own style (not trying to proclaim themselves as being a baby SU).....OPW did good this parade season...but before you say your the best you might want to take a look at more than just one area....#justsayin
Are u serious? They are still 2nd best. Step your field shows up and maybe then u can get the title of #1 in the city. You have to be the best in EVERY aspect to be considered #1 and clearly you aren't. Almost everybody in this thread has given very valid points. Just because Walker caught the Aug sleepin at Alla, doesn't mean you're the all around better band...hell, Walker was caught sleepin at times, just look at the footage from every parade this year. Y'all may have won that particular batte, but y'all have NOT won the war. Now, I'm not knocking Walker....they had a really good year...BUT, don't let that battle get to your heads...y'all still have more work to be done...
