Dear Prospective Student:

Jarvis Christian College, located in Hawkins, Texas, is an open admission historically black four-year liberal arts, baccalaureate degree-granting institution. As the Director of Bands at Jarvis Christian College I am proud to have this opportunity to invite you to become a member of the Jarvis Christian College marching band. At this time, the program is going into a new direction. We are reaching for new heights, new goals, and new methods of teaching, as well as innovative ideas. Service Awards/ Scholarships

Service awards (Scholarship) are available for students that participate in the band program. You must audition with the Director of Bands to receive a service award.

There are also institutional scholarships available for qualified student.

Jarvis Christian College is a United Negro College Fund School. You may go to uncf.org and apply.

Auditions

Auditions for membership in the JCC Bulldog Marching Band will be conducted by the Band Director prior to acceptance into the band program. Audition will be based on the following criteria:

• Sight reading
• Pre-pared piece
• Major Scales (Winds & Melodic Percussion)
• 26 Essential Rudiments (Percussion)
