It's Official: SU@NO has a Marching Band

I was actually waiting for somebody else to post this information. but A few SUNO Music students have been posting around facebook to spread the word for people interested..

A Couple of SUNO students have this on their walls.

All students of Southern University at New Orleans ( join now be apart of this ) (southern university at new Orleans marching band )

It's been a hot minute since I've heard anything about the beginning of marching band at SUNO
In the likes of everything, when I was in High school I knew they had a Jazz Ensemble, but they never had a marching band. why? simply because they felt that anyone who wanted to do marching band would have to go to the Baton Rouge campus. Same thing for Dillard University , They also has a band now I don't know if yall know about this but There was even a time where Dillard University actually wanted their music students to be bussed to Baton Rouge to take part in SU's band, but Greggs Denied it because of course that Idea is dumb and it costs way more money to do that. ...

Well yeah.. Now It's Official SUNO has a Marching Band... Therefore a new set of "Knights" should be marching the streets of N.O by parade season

as for the courses for band there's always been them there.. it will be great

1. Get Kicked out of SU band where do you go? To Suno's band

2. There is no age limit to the band. IN fact one guy I know wants to join is in his mid 30's

Man the potential this band has will be on point for New Orleans. Just think about all the band heads who start there college years at SUNO. It will be something serious, they may not sound like SU, but they will be a sight to see and a sound to hear.

Personally i think its a good thing, no a great thing. The more bands we can add to the list wether they be show or corp means hopefully more band programs that can be established meaning more jobs for those of you who are actually studying to be directors and such.

The way they are pulling funding on every level from elementary school through college [for music and the arts] period, this is indeed good news.
