    The 2009 version sounds more open...more than likely due to the change in playing style. It also sounds kinda loose though. The one from 96 has the typical JSU sound to it. Dominant trumpets and the lower brass is, for lack of a better word, "focused." The 96 version of the boom has more of a punch on this one to me though. I go with the 96 edition of the Boom.

    Is it me...or, does 96's version really belong with 09...and, 09's version really belongs with the 2009 group?

    I think any difference really has to do with how the band is arranged. I might have to roll with 96.

    I like both but the arrangement in 09 is better, that trombone part is nice.
