KUDOS!!!

I just want to emphasize how much I appreciate this "new generation" of BD's in the HOUSTON and surrounding areas... You guys have definately brought back a passion that had been lost for quite some time... It's a shame how so many people are noticing that our collgiate bands are demenishing, not only in size but in drive and passion as well...

What so many don't understand is that the trends that have carried over into our colleges are filtering from our high school programs and from those who walk on without an orginazational background... I commend you guys from the bottom of my heart because there ARE alumni who wish that they could make a difference by being present at band camps and stepping in as mentors/sponsors... But like me (in the Marines) we can't really be there for the younger guys...

Keep it up!!!

  • This is so true...I don't see too many directors in Houston leaving their schools which was a BIG problem in the first place. You also have to give props to some of these principals...as crazy as it sounds they were the reason alot of these bands were looking like they did for so long. These newer principals took a step back and made the schools like they were when They were in high school. Those older principals were listening to Al Edwards too much....
