  • Could a old head tell the entire story? That article is written with little details.

    Seems like there's a clashing of 57/61 and 88/89

Theres a 30+ year difference in the ages so one could predict issues.
  • Historically speaking Most schools in N.O were for White students prior to the civil rights movement.
Fortier was totally white up until the 70's. therefore the 57/61 classes were white... and with the current demographic of the school, it is believed that the 88/89 Classes were not allowed on campus due to their race

When Orleans Parish School board allowed Tulane University to take over, the name was Changed to Lusher. and according to them they changed it from a Low performing school, to the best school in the city..but ever since then they have refused to work with the black alumni from the Fortier high school

The Reality is that it's a totally different school Located the Fortier building.

They gave the rights to allow the white classes to tour, but it shouldn't be a problem to allow the black classes to do the same.
  • This is a Big fucdginn problem...
    a big one...
    something needs to be done...
tarpon band please call and get the exact reasons why they weren't allowed to film the school and then get the exact reasons why the classes of 88 and 89 weren't allowed to tour the building in writing...
then after that is obtained if it doesn't satisfy you then, take it up to the Orleans Parish School Board or RSD (i think Lusher is an RSD Charter since fortier was failing)...
if then no answer or an unsatisfactory or timely answer is given, take it to the news...

use email you can track it better...
and voice record conversation and tell them that they are being recorded...
  • MAN F??K LUSHER WITH THERE SCHOOL BUILDING JACKING A$$. This is big time discrimation and could be a big time lawsuit case. Oh they have mess up now

Tarpon Band take these Lusher weid white people to court. No body told them white folks to leave Fortier when intergation was enforce. They don't have room to tell yall nothing, hell Fortier (with the black community supporting the school) have history and traditions. Also decades of graduating classes and it will not be forgoten.

We as (blacks) in New Orleans have to start standing for something.
  • its like slavery all over again whats sad is people like kentrell r just like those slave owners want to hold black progress back i witness the incident i was there and i got they ass on tape putting us off campus i didnt trip on them i gave the slave owners they respect and went cross the street and kept filming i got them on tape putting fortier alumni off there campus they r some low down people and the bad part they have black people working there and black kids going to the school thats they token niggas i aint no token im go tell it like it is its a new day in new orleans i aint sitting in the back of the bus hell with that they did fortier wrong and they dont care but i care bcuz im from here nobody and they momma go mess with me long live fortier they took the building but not the spirit
