GREENSBORO N.C. - Two people, including a North Carolina A&T State University campus police officer were injured during a chase that began on campus Friday night and ended up at a busy Greensboro intersection.
According to the university, campus police officers were escorting the NC A&T Marching Band from practice at Aggie Stadium just after 8:15 p.m. The officers had blocked off Sullivan St. at Charles Drew Dr. when a car failed to stop and drove through the band. Six band members reportedly dodged the car and were not hurt.
Officers began chasing the car through campus. Greensboro police were also called to help in the pursuit. After stopping at the intersection of N. Elm St. and E. Cone Blvd., the driver refused orders to get out of the car then rammed two police cruisers. Officers finally grabbed the driver.
Two people were taken to Moses Cone Hospital for what is described as non-life threatening injuries.
The university said no A&T students were injured.
