OVER THE YEARS HBCU BANDS HAVE BEEN ON VARIOUS STATIONS. But 70% of the bands sound bad to one tpet playing to just terrible recording. My thing is why we normal ppl have better clips and sounds of the bands next to a professional camera crew? That comes to can bands argue the tv fault next to actual clips hitting the net?

We(normal people) stand in one spot. In front of the band, on the 50 from in the stands. If its a parade then its on the side of now some professional band media people record from the front. But as far as field shows, those camera crews are everywhere. Idk which camera/cameras or what picks up the sound but at times it can sound off. Like if you watch the bayou classic halftime show. I know its in a dome but at times it sounds clustered.
There was a like a 2 year period where it seemed like NBC finally learned how to record a band. They positioned their mics at the 50 like ESPN and FOX do when they show the bands at halftime. For some reason they went back to their old system of having cameras all over the field to show the performance from many different views. They often only pick up the sound of 1 or 2 squads as opposed to the whole band. Then it is like they have the cameras right in their bells. lol
BET WAS THE WORSE UNTIL 05 THEY STEPPED UP BIG UP THAT YEAR. 08 bayou was the worse recording but marchingsport had excellent footage. 04 swac championship ugh ugh. But 05 bayou was the best footage i seen for some reason i like that stadium better than the dome!

Over the years, especially in regards to the Bayou Classic, I've noticed more cameras over the field, but the sound is coming from one spot... almost as if the multiple cameras don't have the mics on, they are just catching the images... The mic'd camera might be on the 50 up towards the sky boxes or something like that....
with us "normal" people (lol), we are positioned where WE know the sound will be the best, for the most part at least.... u still have some people who like to record right under the bands.
i also noticed gsu an su enter the field on different angles too, from the drill gsu tends to stay on the inzone and su hits the middle, i know in 05 tuskegee vs morehouse both made me push mute lol but tu ws crunk.
