So every time I log up here, its always discussions and videos of bands in the SWAC and I always think to myself, "what about the MEAC?" There are some pretty good bands in the MEAC I think can take a lot of these so-called "good" SWAC bands. Example: NSU Spartan Legion, Bethune Cookman, SCSU, and NC A&T. What exactly do you have against the MEAC?? Why aren't more MEAC bands up here??...Believe me, you haven't seen true showmanship, musicianship, precision, nor execution until you've heard one of those bands especially NSU! #imjustsayin

Ma'am...this is a SWAC-dominant website. You aren't gonna see much talk about the MEAC. *looks at profile and notices age* From the looks of it, you shouldn't be posting in this forum...so...I'm just gonna move it...
Yea it is a SWAC-dominant website smh thats a shame because MEAC bands are really great and have superior musicianship. People on this site dont really talk about them much just because they dont "crank" on all their songs. But they are really nice bands.
^^^But some of these so-called great with superior musicianship bands are goin towards the "cranking" thing folks talk about the SWAC for...but I digress...
lol yea but when they do play at louder volumes you can still hear every part. The only thing is just they raised their dynamic level. Other bands just play loud and are really unbalanced.

Thank you. Thats all that needed to be said! The point I was trying to make is that MEAC bands don't get the credit they deserve. Theres nothing wrong with "cranking" as long as there is control and balance with it which is what a lot of people criticize a bunch of SWAC bands for don't doing. The bands that I listed to a pretty decent job of it though

i couldn't agree more to your post Musik..i posted a discussion not too long ago about this same problem...the topic is titled playing styles and techniques...musicianship is musicianship all the way out...i just submitted at least 9 songs to NSU to write to this past thursday...
Move on to the 5th or elsewhere. You will get little recognition here. A lot of close minded people lurk these forums, and it's best you learn that ASAP.
It's two different cups of tea, and most people here don't like the MEAC flavored one and what it brings no matter what.
Personally this site is boring. SWAC bands are entertaining, for the MOST part, but SWAC dominant forums are abysmally dry [well i guess when you read three JSU vs SU threads back to back that all go to at least 10 pages each, it tends to get that way *shrug*]. Although there are a few gems that come up here and then, and the video section is pretty good. The only reason I even stick around is to see internet drama... and perhaps participate in some when I'm bored. But that's about it.
Either way you slice it, this is probably not the forum for you.
