So, word on the street is Morehouse College has just named Mr. Blake Gaines their new band director. For those that don't know Mr. Gaines, he was former director of Morris Brown College, Kentucky State, and he also was the director of Morehouse College during the late 80's through the early 90's. Being an alumni of Morehouse I AM SOOO READY to see what the HOF is going to be like under his leadership. Morehouse Band was a SERIOUS powerhouse under his leadership....can't wait to see what happens this season and beyond!!!!!!!! CS WHERE YOU AT LOL!!!

Damn thats gonna be nice. Blake (as i call him because i know him personnaly) is a FIRE arranger and a great Band Director in all aspects. I expect to see great things coming from and going on over there!!!

...So, he was actually BD at MoB? I know he arranged and recruited hard for them, but I didn't know that.
Either way, I can't wait!

I believe Mr. Gaines got there in 1989, but 1991-1994 were the golden years for Morehouse because that's when they had size, power, finesse, repertoire, and drills in the same package. And it was under his direction. Just look up clips from those years.
