Our Story

Kreative Foundations is an organization that was founded in 2003. Located in central Georgia, the organization attempts to encourage the development of social and intellectual skills through the implementation of music education.

Recognizing the advantageous effects of music erudition on both individuals and society as whole, Kreative Foundations has implemented their youth music programs. These stimulating programs, offered in collaboration with local elementary, middle, and high schools, cultivate the musical abilities of many adolescents. The goal of these projects is to enhance traditional education and social development.

Since founding in 2001, the organization has been recognized with an invitation for their community band to perform in the Annual Cherry Blossom Parade in Macon, Georgia. Five students involved in the community band have since moved on to participate in university band programs and several have gone on to get a secondary education either at a vocational college or accredited university. Over the last three years, the organization has been involved in reconstructing the Dooly County High School Band program in Vienna, GA, worked with the Fine Arts Camp at Fort Valley State University, and has contracted our services to their marching band program.

All Kreative Foundations programs are administered by a well-trained staff. The Executive Director, Mr. Jeffery D. Ellison, is well qualified for his position. He has an extensive history in educating youth. His mentoring experience is vast, having held positions as both a child development specialist and childcare counselor. Currently, Mr. Ellison serves as a Family Care Coordinator delivering intensive individual & family therapy, behavior modification training, social & self esteem building skills to at-risk youth and his experiences in this position will transfer to those in the program.

What We Need & What You Get

Kreative Foundations strives to offer its programs’ participants the opportunity to experience success on a broader scale. Participation in music during the formative school years brings countless benefits to each individual that will serve as a foundation for success in life. A large part of lifelong success is the completion of post-secondary education. Encouraging students to further their education by attending college is an organizational priority. Staff members will work continually with college recruiters to identify prospective students who demonstrate potential for college success. In addition, each spring the organization will sponsor college-touring trips for high school seniors. The cost for these trips will be $140 per student, and we anticipate accommodating 50 students. Currently the organization is seeking sponsorship for these activities, in an attempt to allow students to participate in these excursions free of charge. We will provide seminars and workshops in order to instruct students in techniques for effective leadership, and extend small college scholarships to graduating seniors.

During the summer, the organization will continue their efforts to promote the social and intellectual growth of youth through music. The summer activities will not only provide adolescents with an outlet for continuation of education, but also with positive recreation that will act as a deterrent to possible delinquency. The organization’s primary objective for summer is the sponsoring of youth participation in the Musical Dreams and Fantasies Band Camp. The cost to students for participation in the summer band camp is $215 for overnight students and $100 for day campers. With the appropriate funding, these fees could be greatly reduced. Kreative Foundations will also facilitate explorative education through trips to Walt Disney World. The cost for these trips will be $240 per student, and we anticipate accommodating 50 seniors who have participated year long in our program and have made substantial changes not only to their educational life but showed outstanding character in making personal changes.

We aspire to cultivate youth interested in music, and to discover the hidden talents of many adolescents through a variety of activities and outings. Some of the other activities planned for the next school year include:

****Trips to 3 college football games, to offer a firsthand encounter of the college band experience. ($20 per student for 50 students)

*****Sponsored trip to the Honda Battle of the Bands, a national tour and invitational showcase featuring America’s historically black college and university marching bands. ($25 per student for 50 students)

****Trip to the State Farm Bayou Classic in New Orleans. ($140 per student for 50 students)

****Implementation of Senior Signing Day, inviting local news stations in an effort to give music and arts students the same attention given to their peers in athletics. (FREE!!!)

A donation from you will assist in the survival of the organization’s projects. We are requesting $25,000. This funding will be used for costs related to personnel, program, and administrative expenses.
