Neville 97-01 Showband Era

Carroll Battle of the bands in 97 - this was the most intense moment in my high school life , we made history that night. 4th place overall out of 8 bands. we marched in like stallions. the weather seemed fine so we wore our t-shirts , jeans , boots and spats. we marched in 3 DMs , 1 extra dude as dm to balance the intro , 56 instruments, 10 flags,10 majorettes and our mascot. Chills still run when hear how loud we was when we came to attention and marched on the field. Now our show set up was very different. I guess our BD wanted us to be different. Now since someone stole my tape (of course) , ill have to tell u how the drill looked. 4 lines of of 16. Very simple. drumroll 8 (to the rear pinwheel back to line), Hope u get this part, whole step 24 counts, half step 16. into to chorus - all forward 8 ; outside 4 pinwheel out 8, to the rear pinwheel back in 8 and forward 8; inside 4 forward 8, pinwheel out 8, to the rear and pinwheel back in 8. inside to the rear all move forwad 8 . groove section - all step 2 starting from the center 16 forward in formation , back in line 8 , all pinwheel to the left 8 to face the crowd. end of drill . I 've been searching - playing while doing traditional gram. style dance steps. Break down , cant really descibe it but u can tell from the loudness from the crowd that we was getting down. We was the first band to perform and my glad cause it poured down raining right after the second band which was wossman. LOL LOL LOL But all i have to say is we came, we twerked it , and we had fun doing what we do. Next ill post 99 Neville field show carroll botb .

I never knew Neville was a showband? Learn something new everyday! Only bands we encountered from Monroe were Carroll and Wossman!

I remember playing at Neville in 2001 during the playoffs. Our team beat them in the closing minutes of the game en route to the state championship game. For some reason, we were the only band in attendance.
