The film features the stories of band members and band directors in 3 bands as NOLA marching bands were struggling to come back after Hurricane Katrina. It features The LE Rabouin HS Marching Band (the school is no longer in existence), The O. Perry Walker HS Marchng Band (now Landry-Walker), and the very first season of "The Roots of Music", the middle school band program founded by Rebirth Brass Band drummer Derrick Tabb.

I enjoyed the documentary. It showed the good, the bad, and ugly f life in New Orleans; however, it also showed how music can save kids from the streets. I like how life and death are celebrated in New Orleans through music and parades.
