Nothing like BRAND NEW Instruments, or is there?!?

Just curious if it's just me or not. Why is it that when you get a new instrument, it needs to get "broken" in...? Is it just me or do some of those 27 year old instruments work better than brand new stuff? what makes them more "open" than new stuff? What is different from the brand new, to the broken in, to the old. i don't get it. Shouldn't a brand new instrument be already ready to go and great? just an interesting idea....

  • I don't know, maybe it is a mental thing.
  • its just like breaking in a pair of brand new leather shoes. u gotta strech them out a lil bit before they are comfortable and ready to work for real.
