Aight 2008 was a unique year for the U, basically ran thru every band throughout the year, came with a new sound of balance, and better clarity.....Still had some trademark power, ended with triumph in at the Bayou Classic BOTB with the waxfest of Grambling but also tragedy with the hazing situation which landed 2 band members in hospital and 7 more under arrest resulting in a loss of the inaguration parade selection, as well as a suspension of all marching band activities for the spring semester but anyways what are the opinions for the 2009 season, will the trend of the new sound continue 2 tear away from the traditional power of SU and will the projected 150 freshman help or hurt the 75 to 100 returning upperclassmen and ultimately the legacy of the Best Marching Band in America( USA TODAY)??

we will b just fine because the core is there and hopefully every1 that comes to the "u" knows the tradition and respect the tradition of our band and continue to make southern the model for every other band whether they want to admit it or not.we are and alwayes will be the bar for which other bands measure themselves.
idk my prediction is that Southern will be able to bounce back...just not in 09. call me a "pessimist" or a "su hater", or whatever, i just got a bad feeling in the pit.
I'm sure SU will not skip a beat but for some of you talking about they went back to their original sound is stretching it a lot, Su was more intense back in the 80's and 90's, this band that i heard this past year sounded better than a lot of the SU band inthe past, SU was very musicak this past year, back in the they day they got out of hand a lot but in 08 they had a way more controlled sound than they had in the past! Big Ups to the improvements!
Lol!!! u guys over at SU are pure comedians. Waxfest?? Okay..........well...........I hope SU will have a good year in 09. As well as the rest of the SWAC. Yall a trip. Grambling make a post........."yall trying to get glorified any way yall can". SU make one........."da U is the best thing since a churches chicken three piece and their biscuits". SMH

Um...yall will be havin fun against UAPB on 9/12/2009...Anyways...SU will be SU. Their future, along with everyone elses, is not promised...
