  • To this generation, there is alot of band songs that people are not used to hearing from other bands or on the radio(normal spectators) but to play songs away from a normal show band would play like well mainly Rock and genres that relate to that. Living in Houston I listen to 94.5 The Buzz everyday and everyday i hear a new song that any band could beast on. Linkin Park, Muse, 10 Years. I also think its good to bring in different genres. It makes a band look more unique!
  • You can also try playing the theme music to tv shows, movies, musicals, etc.  For example:

    James Bond Theme:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nVMR9ikwn0

    Cowboy Bebop Themehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9XTJ3DYgNss

  • Stepping away from pop culture is ALWAYS ok.  Why not be able to have a diversified book regardless of who your crowd is?

  • We do that all the time.
  • When I was in High school we went to a country school for a game (Brazoswood I think). Their band was playing Van Halen and Blue Oyster Cult...

Cowboy Bebop theme is nice, but you need to check out that music producer's (Yoko Kanno) Catalog...ESPECIALLY Ghost in the Shell S.A.C. and Macross. I am kinda shocked that the corps schools are not doing any of that stuff

  • About 60 percent of the songs "elite marching bands" play, the audience doesn't know.................but after the "elite" band plays it, it becomes a popular tune.
