Well i just recently got braces and I was wondering for anybody who's ever had braces how did you adjust back to playing your instrument like you would normally without braces ? Any Techniques ? Do they even have any affect on the way you play ?

Theres a dental piece that music stores sell for those with braces, mainly brass players(you put it over ur teeth, kinda like a whitening strip but thicker)...for woodwinds, you just have to pretty much adjust...The piece ranges from 5-20 bucks depending on brand and material...hope that helps! :-)

it really depends what you play. and wht Btoneexpress is talkin bout is the wax that they should give you as soon as you get braces. for a brass, put it on ur top front 4 and ur bottom front 6. woodwinds...put it where you gonn get cut.
I play saxophone and i had braces from Spring of 07 to fall of 09...the braces actualy made me stronger and when i got them removed, my tone was so perfect it was insane!!! I didnt have to deal with the bleeding, the swollen cheeks/lips.
my sophomore year at a football game, we were playing Just A Dog...after the song was over, one of my crabs told me that i had blood coming out my mouth. turns out i had a loose wire and it cut a half inch inside my cheek...Worst game ever :(
But hopfully my lil story does not affect anything. but just use the wax, but also learn how to play without it.
i didnt feel a thing! lol i still played the rest of the game with gaws in my mouth...the bleeding stopped pretty quick and i had to go bak to the bus n get it.
some years back we had a btone player tat had braces, it actually helped me alot. hopfully its the same in ur case
the wax helps but at some point you will have to go without it and build up calluses on the inside of your mouth. i learned trombone with braces back in 5th grade and still have em. and im a junior lol.
