Which HBCU's are headed to DC for the Presidential Inauguration? Honestly being that we have our first African American President, you'd think there would be an influx of HBCU's at this years Inauguration.

i think there would but it all depends on the selection process u actually have to go through a whole bunch of stuff all i kno is that they choose 2 bands per state...so lets just wait and see who goes....because a band cant just say that they are going.....
The Presidential Inauguration doesn't give invitations; the bands have to express their interest and complete an application along with band footage.

not true there are special requests for certain bands made by ppl on the committee and by the president himself.

If the Pres. wants a certain band there then he can invite them, its his parade lol. Like Bush had his TX A&M and GRAM band there, I’m sure Obama will want some of his flavor. But he did go to a PWC so no telling.
Otherwise the only band that automatically performs is the U.S. Marine Band aka "The President's Own" everyone else applies... And the PIC which actually puts the thing on selects who are what is in the parade. President doesn’t have time for that anyways.

I know We PVAMU got invited thats why our director didnt accept the invatation to Honda this year but then again we got this Rose Bowl parade thing goin on right now so who knows???????
