Aight, it's some weird discussions floatin right now, but that GSU vs. JSU battle inspired me 2 post this one.........College wise, Who do u really hate the most, or is it just dislike or maybe possible jealously. Any bad u feel be biting off yall or flat out maintains a horrible imitation of your band, let it be known....... And i kno it aint no HBCU unity discussion more like a lil sibling rivalry, & remember It aint that deep but in college the water aint that shallow either, ya dig

Now i don't really hate any band at all.....hate isn't in my blood
but three bands come to mind when a topic like this comes up and these three bands come up (depending on the situation) and in no particular order....and is based off my years
UAPB......yes, PEANUT BUTTA!!!.....its like, they are this little kid who keeps pullin on your leg for attention.......and no matter how hard you hit them or push them back, they keep coming back......talkn bout "Daddy, watch me do this!!"....i guess thats spirit they have, but heyal even Rocky had spirit and got knocked da fugg down in the 1st movie......also call them the no energy band......no lie, i did fall asleep during the 2004 5th against them.....i mean they was boring.....now in the field show they would be crunk....but other than M4 & Neck....i mean, what else is there??
probably the only SWAC band that had that effect on me....at least Valley & Alcorn would play this tune that would be like "awwww shat, thats the song right there" (not knowning that i'm actually hearing the song in my head rather then listening 2 them play....but they still brought up the idea of the song being played)
next would be Texas Southern......heyal, i grew up on these boys.....HBCU in my own backyard, thought i was gonna end up there, real talk.....but actually, someone from TnSU recruited me 2 go 2 JSU w/o her even knowing (but thats another story *lol*).....basically, its that hometown bragging rights that I enjoy the most out of them.....and that huge L we took from FT in '04 was just...dayum bad.....heyal, all of Houston was blown up my phone that night (only answered 1 phone call =P).....but we got they arse back in '05 in their face =D.....i always wanted to face that Jackson/Thornton era TxSU band.....knew that was never gonna happen but when Gib arrived, they became alot better...but that still won't save yall boys.....KNOW THAT!
and lastly is SU of course......heyal, its JSU vs. SU....what else do i gotta say?? But there is one thing that i envy is the precision drilling.....now i believe yall overall standard field shows are "Meh" at the most but the drilling is what it is....back in my HS days, we would watch SU tapes during class (usually right before we learn that same drill) and the shat yall put on the field is dayum symmetrical (except for that SU/Alcorn mishap....but hey it happens) and i actually try to mix that in that drilling with the Haughton Era of the Boom....now that would be da isht...

I cannot stand how just a few years ago, they(BDs and some students) frowned upon our style of playing and the songs we play, now all of sudden they are starting to play those same exact songs. So when we played Neck and other pop songs, it was beneath them to play those songs. Now that they are playing those songs, it is all of sudden acceptable to bring some real energy to the game? I have always disliked LSU as an institution since I was young, and it just spread to the band.
2. Florida A&M- Just really dislike the arrogant attitudes of some of their band members. They believe that everyone with a different style of playing and marching is inferior to them. Who the heck tries to blow a march over another band while they are playing the march? They can point out everything wrong with your band, but see no faults in their own band program, nobody's perfect. They are not the only school that produces quality musicians.
3. Grambling- This is actually because of the rivalry. My family takes this rivalry seriously, and will root for GSU to lose every game in every sport. I mean most SU fans would pass on the SWAC championship just to win the Bayou Classic. We never want to see GSU outdoing us in anything. You just want to go out and obliterate their band in the Superdome. After the game, everything is cool. Just nice friendly rivalry between two in-state schools.
I know everyone is surprised that JSU didn't make the list, but I only really hate(yes I said it) them when it is time for us to face them. I respect them for being an excellent stand band.
