In spite of all the negative attention the FAMU situation has drawn to all of us, can we pull something positive out of this situation? I say yes!

Please take time here to share your thoughts and ideas as to how we can turn this tragedy to triumph.

For me, after talking with some of my directors, it appears that this will be a good time to do some empirical research that can effect all of our HBCU bands. It has always been an issue directly addressing how important a band like FAMU is to it's university. I think now would be a good time for us as a community of bandsmen to gather empirical data on the results of not having a high caliber and popular band like FAMU after so many decades of tradition and musical success. If the FAMU band is not active for a few years, this will be a good time for researchers to step in and gather statistical data on how not having the band effects football game attendance, school morale, school enrollment, university endowment...etc etc
