Just out of Curiosity, what was the first instrument you played, what instruments can you play, what did instrument did you play in college and how long have you been playing music?

My original instrument is trombone. I started playing in 1988 at B.C. Elmore Middle School. I can play every single instrument with the exception of flute. IDK why but I can teach it fairly well yet I cant make a sound on it.
Clarinet through middle school (6th-8th) and fall of 9th grade (1990-93)
Bass Clarinet 2nd half of 9th grade and all of 10th
Tuba 11th
Bass Clarinet again in 12th (c/o '97)
Majored in Tuba at PV (97-02), but still played Clarinet or Bass Clarinet in Symphonic Band if it was needed.
Took classes in Woodwind, Brass and Percussion Methods.
21 years of music experience total
Short of oboe and bassoon, I play well enough on most instruments to take you through your 2-3 years of playing. I tell my kids they should be killing me after that point...lol...
MY MAIN INSTRUMENT AS WE ALL KNOW ...IS THE TROMBONE.....BUT I STARTED OFF PLAYING SNARE, AND BASS DRUM.. BUT I DO PLAY ALL INSTRUMENTS..... I HAVE A ABOUT 19 YEARS OF music experenice...but blah.. i think all band directors can play just abut any thing..????
lol, yea ALL band directors have to take woodwinds, brass, and percussion methods classes to graduate from college! along with a piano exam and your given recitals. i started in 8th gr with snare drum and fooled around with the tuba when i got to high school. in college i learned all the other brass instruments but my fav was the baritone.. i took woodwinds methods and played flute pretty good and had my own alto sax but its something about those reads i didnt like the feeling in the roof of my mouth lol... but yea... i been at this band stuff since 92'. i dont think you have to be a virtuoso on each one but for sure know how to teach and get great results... ... im a percussion major/piano minor and played all of the percussion instruments in college marching/concert band.
In the summer of 1984, I wanted to play drums. 2 months of underground snare lessons lead to the question that changed my instrument forever, THE LEGEND said, "What instrument do you want to play?" I said drums. THE LEGEND says "There are enough drummers in the world, play trombone!" If I had said percussion, then I would have stayed in the percussion section. Then, I started on trombone. One year of beginner band with THE LEGEND as my private lesson teacher, I was placed into the TSU Wind Ensemble as a 7th grader to advance my training. Since then, my sight reading has been unbeliveable as I added Euphonium and Tuba to my list.
