OKAY ARE YOU SERIOUS...LMAO..MAN GO LOOK AT THE CLIPS....THERE WAS FOLKS WALKING ALL OVER..THE PLACE.........LMAO...EVEN SOME ONE FROM PV SAID IT THEM SELF..THAT IT WAs ABOUt A C+ AT BEST....COME ON NOW LETS BE REAL....
High energy? Stand out? I hate to rain on your parade Storm bruh...but no way!!!!! If anything, the lack of energy killed it. I liked the drill concept (IMO, the concept was better than any of the other band's there). But they exection left A LOT to be desired. And the walking? My goodness!!!! Like I said in another post, I thought yall went corpstyle for a minute. Also, too much stuff was recycled...from the song selection...to the dance routine.
Honestly, based on that performance, I wouldn't expect to see PV in next year's HBOTB.
And this is coming from someone who loves the Storm with extreme bias.
Overall good show...I've seen better. More thought has to go into planning, and more effort has to be made on execution (marching, playing, precision).
Nice ideas with the props but lacked execution. The tubas were basically having sectionals during the show. It was not horrible but if more instruments played during the dance routine, the show would have been much better.
They bought the cans AND the white tees out....again...

That show was O.K. at best. I missed the "Wow Factor". I can hear Prof. Edwards (R.I.P) saying "Back in the hole... knees to your lips". The "V" was crooked, and that's a prime indicator of how the rest of the show ends up. The rest of the drill was good, and I liked the sound, but like the two Brothers stated before me it needed more energy and more 90's (knee lifts). And, I did not see the dance routine, but hope you did not bring the cans out again. Overall, a good show needing more work.
Real Thoughts of the PVAMU Marching Storm (Honda BOTB 2010).
THE STORM DID A HELL OF A JOB.....LOTS OF ENERGY AND STANDS OUT FROM ALL OTHER BANDS, THE CROWD SAID SO.
I usually try not to comment on the Storm because a lot of alumni always try to knock the program. A bunch of them always sit around saying things like "If I was band director then........... If Prof was still alive then................." Its really a pain to hear because the ones that are saying have no music degree and have never directed a band.... WHEW......
Now. I like the energy but the drill....... What was going on? And what happened to the Drum feature?
PV was actually one of the better bands that night because most of the other bands SUCKED.... sorry but everybody besides FAMU, PV, SU and maybe Tuskegee could have kept it. I think a lot of people had higher expectations for the Marching Storm especially going against SU and FAMU.
reguard to the tee's, we only did that in 04 in dallas, and the cans have never been done at Honda. Do I think they're old, sure, has ATL seen them, NO.
As far as the show goes, you can tell the band is not used to trying to do a "precision drill" with no BOX feature, so I expected there to be flaws and mistakes, not to mention being under entirely new leadership. It was sub par for the normal Storm.

What about "Spend My Life With You"? Didn't the Storm play that song at the very last Honda they attended before this most recent one? Of all the ballads that PV has in their inventory, why bring this one out again?
As for the "precision drill" excuse, perfection is still demanded from the Storm. As an alum, I appreciate the hard work that the current members put in day in and day out. But if the Storm is considered to be a top tier band, then top tier performances will be demanded of them (by alumni and fans alike). Anything less, and any top tier band would recieve a massive backlash and harsh criticism from folks who expect better.

Yeah we did play Spend My Life in spring 06. I don't agree with the song selection either. That's the first thing I said when I was at their Georgia Dome practice. I feel you.
At the same time, I don't want to be like these Grambling cats and bash my old band. I want to help them anyway I can.
