REAL TALK hbcu bands arent going to exist in the future if we keep heading in this direction.. we keep fighting over who louder than who and rap songs who cares.. they are trying to get rid of hbcu bands because they believe all we want to do is play loud and beat on each other.. hbcu band numbers keep dropping and musicianship is dropping dramatically... they say hbcu bands should be taking out because they believe all we want to do is play loud and haze.. instead of fighting over who blew who out fight to build up our feeder schools and produce better musicians to come to college that what makes ur band strong... thats why gram plays the way they do not to just please but to show the world that hbcu bands still makes music and great musicians and thats what all hbcu bands should stand for making quality music and better musicians... if we keep heading in the direction we are going we soon lose all of our great bands... Gram decided to make a change and wish other bands would join us on showing the world that hbcu bands makes quality music and better musicians and dont just play loud... we have a great influence over young musicians lets do what we can to make them better
HONESTLY most bands i heard this year sounded the same.. yes they have there own style but only care about blowing each other out on whole notes and simple cords and weak simple melodies... lets bring out the hard stuff that makes other bands wish they could be able to play like that... its easy to play loud thats we all sound the same but takes talent to make ur horn sing and play more challenging music...
i love hbcu bands cant no other bands do what we do but we have to show it to them and just playing loud aint cuting it..
how bout we play some difficult arrangements loud and good and make the world say damn cant nobody touch that
so what bands gonna back us up and what bands gonna say fuck that i just wanna play loud and soon just lose they program... they got rid of fam and tried Txsu and some other schools, u think they wont do it to u!!
