The Division of University Bands at South Carolina State University Presents from April 10-12, 2014 will host the "4th Annual Middle And High School Honor Band Clinics." This Clinic is open to all middle and high school students. In addition to the clinicians, this year's guest performance will be presented by the Oakridge High School Symphonic Band of Orlando Florida, Directed by Mr. Jack Eddy. Mr. Eddy is a native of Orangeburg, SC and a graduate of Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School and Florida State University.
The Clinicians for this years event is Mr. Don Roberts Coordinator of Instrumental Music in Dekalb County, GA School System. Mr. Roberts will be conducting the High School Honor Band & Mr. VIncent Rosse, Director of the Stephenson Middle School Honor Band will be the middle school conductor. We expect over 300 student musicians to attend this years event. The clinic is still open to any student who wants to participate and is endorsed by their school Band Director. A clinician fee of $30.00 per student is the cost for the 3 day experience. The public is invited to the concerts as well.
Thursday April 10, 2014 at 7:00 pm The SC State Symphonic Band, Thursday Aprill 11, 6:30 p.m.in the Smith-Hamilton-Middleton Complex, The Oakridge High School Band and the SC State Wind Ensemble on Friday will also be in the SHM Complex. On Saturday, April 12, at 2:00 p.m. the concerts will end with performances by the Middle and High school Honor Bands in Martin Luther King Jr. Auditorium.
