On June 12th at 6pm at Hillcrest High there will be a showdown takin place it will be labeled as the Jaguar Reunion(old school vs new school). it will be the A Maceo Walker middle school classes of 2002-2006 vs the 2007-present a maceo walker jaguar marching band. It will be a showdown you dont wanna miss. its gonna get packed pretty quick so make sure you be there early. for those alumni jaguars who need more info on where and when practice starts contact me,mr miller(A Maceo Walker),or mr kennedy(hillcrest band director)

we didnt come up with it one of the band boosters came up with it and we agreed to do it and we knew it was a unfair battle so we decided to make it the 2002-2005 alumni vs 2006-present. that evens it up a lil bit
and we really want the kids to work on their horns throughout the summer so they can get better rather than sit there all summer and lose their skills. we also r making sure the kids join the all star band this year too that way when band camp starts they will be already in playing condition and we can just continue where we left off at this year. and this works well for both schools hillcrest and maceo bcuz 95% of hillcrest current band are maceo walker alumni so the kids already know each other cuz hillcrest students often go down to maceo when hillcrest dnt have practice to help out the middle schoolers down there since a maceo walker is hillcrest's feeder school. the way it will be done as far as directors go. since mr miller is the only band director in maceo history, he will continue to lead his current band while mr kennedy and myself will work with the alumni. but i garantee it will be a good show. the kids are excited so are we. both bands have the possibilty of bein over 100-200 deep bcuz maceo was deep back when they first opened. from 2002-2005 they had about 200 members and they were blowin out high schools. but enough detail bout that. make sure you be in the building on june 12th at 6pm and just incase you didnt know. it wont be unfair to the 2006-current band cuz thats mainly whitehaven/fairley/hillcrest and the curent maceo band students. they wont be pushovers. it will be a battle even tough most of the 2002-2005 alumni are college folks
