Sources say that SU will be playing in the SWAC-MEAC challenge in 2010. Southern will play in the challenge and play at McNeese State in 2010. Due to the 9-game mandate (since some teams apparently struggle to schedule games JSU and PV), SU will make a return trip to Nashville against Tennessee State in 2011.The question is, who will Southern be playing. FAMU and BCU were favorites, but since they are still whining about Disney dropping their game, they are out. Sources say that Delaware State and Norfolk are the leading candidates for the MEAC spot.Southern fans are be coming from everywhere to go to this game. Hopefully our MEAC opponent can contribute to the attendance as well.

well i'll be the first to comment fellow juke and say personally i would like the opponent to be norfolk and just about every1 will say the same and if the committee was smart they would do the same this is an anticipated matchup band wise and would not only draw su and nsu band fans but bandheads from everywhere.if this is infact true this will become my family vacation for 2010.was thinkin of goin on a cruise but su vs.nsu in orlando will be much better.now i just have to sell this to the wife lol lol !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
no band will ever play norfolk or Virgina state in that SWAC MEAC challenge because they have a contract to play each other EVERY year fa labor day only way that norfolk or VSU will be in it is if they move it back a week
He's right......neither Norfolk State or North Carolina A&T, would be in the SWAC/MEAC Challenge because of the long time tradition games on labor day...The fish bowl classic with Norfolk vs Virginia State, and the Aggie-Eagle classic, A&T vs North Carolina Central...so like rj said, it would probably be Hampton, Delaware St., but it will all depend on teams scheduling and open dates...But the SU/NSU battle needs to happen soon...

Although it would be great for us, I dont think the folks in charge are considering the bands when making a decision.
Sc State and Hampton are the more likely choices for the MEAC with maybe DSU following up in third. We are NOT sending a weak team to lose to the SWAC!
Why would the SWAC send southern to the challenge? Is this decision based on which school has the most scheduling flexibility? That wouldnt be my top choice if I were running the SWAC....
They're probably sending Southern because everyone else has their first game set already, i know Grambling won't be coming back next year to the Challenge because we have a historic game setting up in Shreveport with LaTech! I wish they would give PV a chance because i think they would rep well but everyone knows how backwards HBCU football is lol!

Disney really faucked us over and we don't want to break the games tradition by playing in Orlando unless Miami jumps back on board then you'll have possibility of our schools participating or relocate the game to a neutral site for both conferences. Jacksonville or Charlotte perhaps?

9 game mandate was thought of way before the end of last season
