Aight check this fam....i was at my barbershop (and at my shop band is like a religon) when my old buddy glenn from vally came in. So we started to talk about the season and of course we came to a disagreement. We argeed about wat the fans really come to see the fieldshow or the stands. I say stands but In my opinion we did better than them in both catorgories but that another story. Fam what yall think Stands or Fieldshow

STANDS BIG DAWG.. THEN YOU DO THE SHOW HIGLIGHT OF THE SHOW THE DANCE GIRLS AND THE BAND'S DANCE ROUTINE DRUMLINE FUNK TRAIN MAYBE THEN BACK TO THE STANDS FOR RAPE ACTION.. MOST OF THE ATTENTION WOULD AND WILL BE CATERED TO THE STAND IN MY OPINION.. YA DIG
fieldshow....think in general yeah most folk will bob there head if you playing something thats hot now or oldschool favorite...some dont even gaf if it even sound good just that you playing it...thats your average non bandhead.....the field show everyone takes notice in that...folks actually stay in their seats and skip concession or bathroom to see bands on the field....parents act a fool in the stands when seeing their child drill and or drop it like its hot on the field not the stands....example my grandad never misses a southern heritage classic...he never says the boom clowned in the stands or tsu wrecked in the stands he says..."the sonic boom turned it out on the field and or tsu vice versa"...that's where everyone is paying attention of all ages...not stands its a cool addition...but all your blood, sweat , and tears come from being on on that artificial turf or real grass ya dig.

Im just sayin when i was in high school i never mised a JSU home game (i mean what eles could u possibly b doin wit yo life on a saturday) and i could tell u ever song they would play in a fifth quarter or pre game battle but couldn't tell u one feature formation from their show hell i couldnt tell u wat step2 drill they ran.(and we all kno when doc was there they shows didnt vary much from week to week), but i feel what u sayin deschaun....i got a feelin if u was their at the shop this would have been a good one
Well when I was young, I liked all the excitement at halftime. I would always fall alseep before the end of the game though so the fifth was out. As I got older I always wanted to hear the bands play so then I started to crave the stands. Now halftimes are all the same and to be honest, I'm tired of seeing bands dance to the same songs. Fieldshows just aren't the same anymore. Once you watch a band for a while, all that stuff becomes old. I would take the stands. That is something that will change on a yearly basis and if the songs are tradition, it's interesting to see how they change each year with the different editions of a band.
We (musicians and "bandheads") tend to put more emphasis on the stands..............
...........But trust and believe that rest of the crowd is there to see halftime..............
A blazing field show "battle" (a superior show from both bands) will ALWAYS get more attention from the masses than any "beasting" stands battle.........
case in point.........su jsu 08, florida classic 09........the masses (not bandheads) only remembers halftime from both of these games......
But then again......if your crowd is acustomed to you being mediocre OR WORSE at halftime.......they might be waitin for the opportunity for yall to redeem yourself in a fifth....................
If thats the case, then why would anyone bother to stick around AFTER the game?
I think regular people (not bandheads) still like to see a good halftime show. Most black folks leave after halftime anyway lol

The focus of a MARCHING band should be halftime. If you're poo on the field, you could have 200 tunes in the book, and it really wouldn't matter.
I find that the bands that sounds the best in the stands are the ones that have a lot to show on the field. It might be an intelligence thing...or discipline...

cause at most games ive seen, majority of the crowd leaves immediately after the bands get off the field.
i like the stands more than field but the field is more what the people care about
