All schools were invited to participate in the MLK Multicultural march. In most cases the signed invitations were hand delivered to the school administrators, band directors, and assistant band directors. In all cases those personal invitations were followed by emailed invites This march was not just for predominantly African American high schools but it was for all high schools in the city. If you didn't notice Brother Martin's band did not participate but they AT LEAST sent their JROTC to participate. This was not a competition but a way to gather children of all nationalities, races, and socio-economic backgrounds to come together for a legitimate cause. It was a cause for peace and harmony.

If your band did not participate, it was because of your band director or principal. 35 was the only high school that had a scheduling conflict because of the rescheduled date due to inclement weather on the 16th. Mr. Jefferson spoke to me at the end to that effect even though I had prior knowledge of his situation. I respect him as well as his band for kind gesture of GOOD information. He insured me that he would participate next year. This was the same situation for John Mc.
Warren Easton: Is way better than last year. They sound good. It made me smile that they played tunes that were not recycled songs everybody plays or SU arrangements. They have their own identity that no one can take away from them now. They will continue in that path. I believe that.
Behrman: They sound good. I will definitely try to recruit their F-Horns. (Grown Little soldiers)
Clark: Every year they get better and better. If the school size was larger they would definitely be larger. Most of their songs sounded good. It's early in the season so they will continue to the get better.
It is funny how people can take something so pure and turn it into something so vial. People will be people so let them be. Some of these "cats" dog all these bands that participated but your band director followed those bands from St. Aug to the Auditorium. (The entire route) Crazy!!!!!! That's good they just added to the number of spectators we had for the event. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!
As far as "seeing" us in the parade: If you are not Easton, 35, or Walker you will not be able to "see us" unless your under the bridge filming. And even with those bands listed its just a showcase of talent.
The event was for a great Civil Rights Leader, Martin Luther King, Jr. If your band did nothing to honor this man's great legacy, then maybe you need to question what is your band's purpose to the community. He died for you. Not for the Holiday.
Thanks to everyone who participated. We have to do this again soon.

ooooo you are the Band Director?!?!?!? Well since you the band director here's a couple of things I would like to share with you!!! First off : The reason why people attack yall so much Is because you have a lack of respect for bands and they're band directors...you walk with your nose in the air like St.Aug is the greatest band in world not seeing any fault within yourself as well as your band program...but I think you're forgetten where you came from which is Lawless....now I'm not gonna lie St.Aug is aight but yall are NOT the best....and as far as band directors following your band...from what I saw they were following Easton!!!! And I know you're just trying to keep it cute on bandhead, but you and I both know that Clark band was a disgrace to the human race. And who cares about 35 and they BD??? 35 is so 2007 Virgil C.
