I read a lot of the bs in some of the other threads..So I wanted to start a thread that will bring forth real dialogue and intelligent analysis and convo.From me being there and being a musician besides entertainment was nothing really special about this batlle.Song selections:I enjoyed both...Arrangements:If jsu arrangers spends more time on the verses and choruses of their arrangement like they do their introductions they would a gang of nice arrangements.SU arrangements ..simply on another level! "Nobody supposed to be here"..when the btones came off that riff and stung what sounded like a high C..and was controlled..the whole jackson side was in awe..Execution:Jsu - seem to don't care about releases...mainly trumpetd..tubas sound like they starting a new trend..Su- controlled and articulation was on point....Baritone fanfare displayed the type of control and style that is taught and practiced at SU. In retro listen to what Jsu btones responded with...and that was pretty much the sound jsu band is producing...a care free, let's just go for it sound.Power-Not even closeI never heard jsu's tbones this weak. Mellos sound like they are straining..trumpet for their size have decent power. Tubas nice volume..Su ..btones,mellos, tbones.....shat this is a strong SU band all around..not one second is fighting to heard. Now on some of the older tunes SU trumpets were known to be a bit more powerful..such as can u feel it, ruff ryders..but all in all they were coming across the field.Who trumpets were better and more powerful...besides the song selections Chase told that story.All the complaining about why su did this and that...some of your negros sound like some lil batches.. act like some men and keep it real and gangsta!You were at a battle. There are many ways to attack!.. if SU called jsu out ..so the fug what! Respond!I wish a band would have played with us like that when I was in any of my bands middle,high school or college.. we blowing back..we ain't going to cry. "Why they kept playing POWER..why they kept asking us to play?"Negro go do some push ups and shut the fug up!When SU got on the field and got in concert formation..that shat was gangsta! It never been done..and they lit into jsu with that.I stood on side of jsu in that sane stadium for years...and on some real isht. Since jsu changed their sound in 2000 this is the weakest version of jsu I've ever heard...It ain't the sloppyiest holla at 04 jsu for that.If jsu goes to txsu this week. Txsu folk will be on here next week preaching the same thing.They really need to install music back in the classrooms in louisiana,texas and especially mississippi... its obvious none of you folk that's "nuetral" that thing jsu did anything besides "entertain" don't know jack about music and more than likely couldn't play 4 scales.There is no way in hell a music lover could appreciate a damn thing from jsu on a musical level except when they play "we came to play" and "get ready"..which are old school arrangements and are they very few that are played and executed like the BOOM before they let SU change who they were.I wish Gerard post his mid field clips to put all this bs to rest. Some of you ignorant non musical mofos make folk don't even want to come on here and post an honest opinion.
