they will have a band program well marching band in 09. i think that alot of parents just will be concerned about sending their child to that band tho. But from what i heard everything is already settled SU band will be monierded more. he just asked a question how hard was to give a answer!! many high schools kids get worried when they see or hear things like this and this is a popular band, and when kids or parents see this i know no matter who band it is is will second guess or question do i wanna be apart of that. Crabs not as strong as they use to be so we need to settle with what we got, and stop puttin hands on other people children an dont wanna take no resposiblity when they get hurt. im a parent so thats how i feel, the worse thing a parent could hear is they send their child off to a out of state school an they get hurt!!!! or even worse, by the hands of what a parent expected to be a protective organization a band So it is serious very serious no one is dramatic at all, if this will grambling i know for a fact it would of been threads out the ass and still going on to this day... but since its su it can get pushed aside. No one is blaming anyone cuz SU is not the only band to get n trouble, we have AAMU, JSU, FAMU, Albany ST, an so on so its not just SU its other schools. and he asked a good question!!! If you dont know something he asked.

ummmmm, their mellophone section got in trouble for hazing and some body went to the hospital, old news now

Legally, the Southern University Band is not responsible. Hazing charges can be filed on the individuals who did it but if the band director has said to the band "We do not haze" and has instructed the organization not to do so then the organization is not liable for it. Those individuals charged with hazing will have to be publicly reprimanded and removed from the program in order to keep things going smoothly.
To make a long story short... SU has nothing to worry about.
oh and Just because something happened in marching band doesn't mean they're gonna sut down the whole program.
You cant take a whole band away because something happened with a couple of people..especially in this day and age. students would protest and the school would lose money ..
SU will definitely have a band program next year. Everybody knows that hazing isn't nothing new at SU. If you want to be a part of something that you love, you shouldn't let a little hazing get in the way of that. If crabs don't like it they always have a choice to quit, but where is the pride in quitting. In my opinion hazing is a type of discipline that make you stronger and more focused. SU is a well disciplined band and it shows. All of the more reasons why there will be a band program at SU in '09.
