you not saying that because you go there right?
Jackson State offers both bachelor's and master degree programs in Music.
In music what? Just asking....

Just start calling all of the bands that you like and ask about their programs. Search online for the degrees that they offer and try to find where their graduates are working in the field.
Jackson State's program is tough, but so is Florida A&M. Hampton has more options in music degrees.
Music history, theory, and applied instruction is basically the same where ever you may attend. A C major triad doesn't change! You may experience a difference in instruction and the environment as to the challenges you can experience. Where ever you go, remember it's up to you to learn! You can go to Oxford in England, if you don't learn the material you might as well went to Joe's music Academy.
I LOVE THIS POST!!!
Jackson State would MOST likely be Your best Option, Im kind of Faced w/ the Same dilemma and I dont wanna sacrifice my education for band
look for a school with a wide array of ensembles... and with an instructor that has good credentials...
Erin you will learn at any accredited university with an accredited music program. If they are teaching and producing they are accredited, don't get caught up in the my universities program is the best, do you. I've noticed you are a JSU fan, they have a nice program but it's up to you what you are going to do.
