1. Southern - The best overall sound this year very balanced and nice book.2. Jackson State - A close second but very nice sound compared to last season but their trumpets are overrated this year just my opinion.3. UAPB - Very clean sound but they just don't have that WOW factor because it seems as if they play too safe but better than I expected.4. PV - Is on a come up but still a work in progress to become a heavy hitter nice book and balnced sound.5. Alabama St.- They've cleaned up their sound alot but mediocre arrangements and musicianship not quiet on the level as top 3.6. TxSU - One of the best books in the SWAC but arrangements don't fit their band, but better than last season..7. Alabama a&m - I can hear they're trying to get back to 98-99 level but not quiet there yet, 1 year away everybody needs to watch out for them...8. Alcorn - Doing a great job to sticking to their identity but maybe a year or two away from being a threat.9. MVSU - honestly they've been on a come up for the past 3 years but I guess the school doesn't appeal to highschoolers, JSU & Alcorn will always be the first pick in Ms.10. Grambling - Uhhh IDK.... It's truly sad to see the decline of this band but their school administration must think that the band is still on the level of the 70's because they have yet to make faculty changes..Now this is from what I observed of these bands so far and I saw my top 4 in person so it is what it is.

i would say thats about right on point...sad to see that my school has fallen to the bottom...but hope we can get it together and get back in the right direction...SU-JSU-UAPB-PV-TXSU are all forces this yr,,,...
I would agree, but I just cant roll wit 1,2... change those two, and 5,6 and its a go... I will give SU 1.5.. just for the fact of them not having that wow fact anymore on the field... break downs use to be nice, but now they are like... I dont know SU..lol but will always be my top 2 until somebody step up... UAPB is nice this yr!
Im willing to bet you havent been to an AAMU game this year, correct? Number 7, are you serious? behind a band with "arrangments that dont fit there band", and behind a band with "mediocre arrangments and musicianship"? LOL this list is hillarioius.

yea GSU director is still stuck on history...he thinks our history is what gonna recruit people and as long as he does then yall will see a constant decline...all he have to do is go recruit like 06..but maybe 2006 was the last big GSU yall will see....sad to say.

TxSU is over PV imo from the clips i seen at the SFC. that's all imma say. but you did say you only seen the top 4 so you probably haven't seen TxSU in person yet so i guess. i don't see how their arrangements don't fit their band when they sound real good this season.
