Although I don't have my Footage ready I just had to share my thoughts of the band with you.
Here we have a fresh university band program, maybe 100 members strong. It's only one month in action and they Look good, They sound good, they were prepared for what they were going to endure. although The parade was less than 2 miles long, the extreme humid conditions had them all full of sweat.
Talladega's sound was fairly consistent in volume and quality from start to finish. With majority of the students being of New Orleans, They were very appealing to the crowd they were playing for. Folks yelled and screamed for their kinfolks, as well as band students from our high schools (like St Aug, Carver & Walker) also following the band throughout the whole parade.
For a brand New and band being in New Orleans for the first time, That was new to me. I've never seen a local N.O. crowd follow any collegiate band other than Southern during a parade event So I Know this was a big Deal for Their program. The More exposure brings on more opportunity. It's likely the city of N.O will see more of Talladega
Personally I though There were Issues here and there that will need to be improved and or changed. but I'll give this band Time to get better. now that I've heard them. I have higher expectations of what this band can and will do this fall and in the future.
I Hope this Experience meant something to them all whether they were from here or not.

Just imagine, I realized I had a cousin in their band while out there at the Shriner parade.
I met The college's President Dr..Billy Hawkins along with other school representatives and they were all proud.
I was informed that Dr. Hawkins a strong supporter of the band program too., with that said I believe that every opportunity the band gets, they will make strides to attend and accomplish.
**had to fix that title**
