Just read this in the Tallahassee Democrat newspaper. Famu band will not travel to Nashville unless Tenn State pay for the band's trip. However the band will be at the following games University of Miami on Sept 6, North Carolina A&T on Oct. 25, and BCU on Nov. 22.

  • No fun in having them on the schedule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • its crazy how people can talk down on FAMU and since one season of a down year theyre weak? NO band has every sounded as great to famu musically only band came close was BCU BUT TO CALL THEM WEAK come on. People act as every band travels NO they dont its issues going on over there and money is one of them as we can see!!!! We need to suppose FAMU and see the root of the issue over there instead of dragging them down damn

  • How many other bands did not go to games in 2012, or 2011 or what ever year and were they put down like this? NO

  • I grew up near famu and I feel bad about all that is happening. I know the history, and famu brought this on themselves. Yes famu has done some amazing things in the past but to say no one has come close is a matter if opinion... there are many bands that have been just as amazing and it wasn't because they had the most heads on the field.. too say that another school should pay them to perform is some of that same attitude that got them in this mess in the first place.
  • We should've known they'd pull a funny move like this.

  • yall act like they pulled a Grambling or something FAMU is not the only band to NOT travel to a team but to say another school pay NO. GSU seems to be the only band who can get other school to pay for them them white teams to play to get them there and bring people to the game. LIke Ohio State wanted GSU but GSU was already booked they made a statement saying if they would have known FAMU had no band they would have NOT scheduled them. But FAMU VS TSU from the battle last yr i think FAMU should have stayed home but ppl are making this out to be bigger than it is.
  • So what !  The JUKEBOX will be traveling in 2014---coming to a STADIUM near you !!!

Tenn State AOB vs Famu Marching 100 Is Not Happening

  • "The first appearance that FAMU's Marching 100 will make this season is already costing the school's athletic department and it won't participate at Tennessee State's homecoming unless the band's trip is paid in part by TSU."

"FAMU president Elmira Mangum vehemently told the 220 Quarterback Club, a FAMU support organization, on Monday that she wants a share of the revenues from the TSU game for the band to show up. Mangum spoke to the club at the University Club House on FAMU's campus."

The band isn't the "bad guy" here.

  • FAMU NEED NUMBERS? just 2011 THEY WERE THE BIGGEST HBCU BAND BUT NOW SINCE JSU GOT NUMBERS THATS THE EXCUSE THIS IS NOT FAMU BAND FAULT PPL DO YALL DAMN RESEARCH. YALL ACT AS EVERY OTHER BAND TRAVELS DAILY NO.
