*All Birmingham City Highschool Juniors/Seniors are invited aswell*

Birmingham Citys' Highschools have produced some of the finest musicians that college bands have ever experienced. Due to lack of resources and support to the Arts programs, also qualified Band teachers,Lack of participation; the City's band programs are suffering tragically from year to year. The "Allstar band" will serve as an effort to bring back the desire and the drive that Highschool band student once possessed in the city. The "Allstar band" will also be used as stimulation to promote participation in the local band programs. The participation of the college bandsmen will also benifit the Highschool student by exposing them to what the next level of band has to offer. It will also act as a means of music mentorship by the College bandsmen and allow the College bandsmen a vehicle to give back to their home schools through the form of education, rolemodeling and, leadership training.

We urge all who meet the above standards to come and participate.

We have members participating from

Ala State Univ.                  Alabama A&M Univ.

Bethune Cookman Univ.     Miles College                   Auburn University

Alcorn State Univ.              Tennesse State Univ.       University Of Alabama

Tennessee State Univ.        Tuskeegee Univ.
