One thing about Grambling is we can conjure up a nice show without even trying but when we put our all in it it's lights out for the next band! Fieldshows aren't a big problem for us, it's the sound and Goku you think you know what's going on at GSU but you don't and don't know the half of it lol. As far as making the crowd head bob:
2004: State Fair Classic Halftime
2005: Bayou Classic Halftime, did a Texas show and they loved it: Drapped Up etc.
2006: Dallas Cowboys vs New Orleans Saints in Shreveport, it was hot as hell in Shreveport but started to rain when we hit the field, that rain only made the band get more into the show and the crowd went wild. First performance of the season, before school even started.
2006-Battling Hampton in the stands, they weren't ready for us, the year started off great but after that game i don't know what happened, well i do but i will keep that to myself. lol
2006: State Fair Classic, the infamous Chevy sign brought the crowd to their feet.
2006: TXSU vs GSU BOTB's in Houston, Halftime show got love and the stand battle was intense
2007: Alcorn was the first game, we stole their own crowd and kept them in our pocket
2007: Super G had the crowd go wild
2007: Homecoming show, Lets Stay Together, the entire stadium turned into a choir, enough said.
2007: Halftime show and stands at the ULM vs GSU game in monroe, the cheers for us went off the meter.
2007: Bayou Classic BOTB's, we calmed the Boos and had the crowd singing to our music.
2007: Bayou Classic Halftime show will go down in history, many still talk about it
2008: JSU vs GSU halftime show, that show made our fans and team so crunk
2009: Homecoming show, the crowd went wild for the old school selections and the helicopter entrance but the drum majors.
Just to name a few lol. So all is not lost with us, its just cleaning up the sound and and staying with it minus improvising that some of the knuckleheads do. Finding that pride again.
i think this discussion should exclude comments from grambling folk cause u guys and girls gonna find more times that u thought u killed versus what every1 else thinks and that goes for every band.
The majority of these peeps on bandhead are not gonna give the band props so we(GSU) got to take care of ourselves, there are way to many peeps on here that don't want to be seen as a person that says anything good GSU lol! Sad, but so true!
Here we go with this non-progressive dilusional bs, again. Man, GSU has been poo the last few years. ((Wasn't there JUST a thread that covered this?)). Now, Ive been roaming these boards for a sec...and, I haven't seen the shows or stand footage of a quarter of the games and performances yall are naming....lol
The last time I saw Grum really do anything to a crowd was "Calling Tyrone" in 97. Everything between then and now has been below average, with a few decent-to-above average shows sprinkled in there..
