This camp is for anyone that thinks they have what it takes to be the ultimate drummer. The camp will be held at the Kimball High School Band Hall. The purpose of this camp is to enhance the skills of each individual such areas as technique, rudimental lessons, how to maintain your instrument, tuning and overall musicianship, discipline, and respect for fellow drummers. Most everything that is taught will be taught as one and NO drummer will be singled out. These practices will help all of our campers acquire the skills needed to be the Ultimate Drummer. We are inviting all drummers from the grades 7 through 12 to participate. For those of you that have never played a drum before and think that this is something that you’re interested in, then we welcome you too. Attached to this letter you will find the following items: a UDC flyer for you to pass on to a friend and a Parent Permission form for you to return to the Kimball Band Hall by June 4, 2009.We ask that you bring your own drumsticks, mallets, and straps. Drums will be provided and only used during the time we are at camp. We also require that all campers have a positive attitude and the willingness to work with others. This camp will allow you to broaden your sense of musicianship and showmanship. We will be practicing numerous rudiments, warm-ups, and cadences daily, which will intensify each day. Remember! Come ready to work and we will always be ready to work with you.
