The Uprising of the World Famed

Between 2001 and 2010 we've seen many sides of Grambling and somewhere between 04-09 there was a downfall, and it was clear that 07,08 09 were the worst seasons for GSU.  Aside from that Pannell dealt with the death of his wife in 2008, then the scrutiny of Alumni's turning against him in 2009. 

But The 2010 and 2011 we saw Grambling come back to the SWAC was a sound much equal / greater than 2003/04 .. maybe not as clean as 2001 though.. but the band sounds and looks good. The Irony of it all was that, This seasons "greatness" was all captured on film.   In comparison to The Season of The Tiger year. 6 years later we get a Greater Grambling

What's really going on with the world famed? New Staffers, New Mission? or Just plain ole Revival of Tradition?   


...aside from that i did this thread to make conversation. kinda dry on here

    BOOK,i totally agree.....they got some good stuff going on down there.....you can clearly see the change in that program,one change ive noticed was the addition of micheal hendrix to the band staff,he was my high school director and a true musician,ever since he's arrived at gsu ive seen nothing but positive progress,i had a chance to talk to him at gsu graduation a few weeks ago,had to congradulate him on a job well done,now im sure he's not the only reason for this turnaround,but he's definitely working some magic down there......KEEP IT UP WORLD FAMED!

    even on the clips i watched of the show it was mentioned that THEY on staff felt that this past season was one of their best. and that was Clear..

    Hendrix is a key factor to the World Famed success and progress the past 2 yrs...Another is alot of attention to detail going into gettin the marching back to where it once was, perfecting the music, and putting on an overall entertaining halftime show,

    I Love that the band went back to the (brand new) Throwback Uniforms that everyone knows and identifies with..the band has a lot of positives goin on moving forward and things look to be in place for continued success....

    The Staff regrouped and went back to the blueprint of the World Famed. Nothing more, nothing less. Progress will continue. Glad to see consistency back in the program.

    Hendrix knows how to get people Goin!! Its good to see him down there handling business.. As soon as I found out that he had left Amaceo to go back to Gram, I knew that they're program would progress eventually.. And I believe that they are NO WHERE to his standards (still good though).. This man knows how to build a program.. I mean at his old HS, hell darn near all of his students in the Marching Band were All region and All State players... So I look forward to seeing great things from Gram.. Keep it up..

    First off, thankful to God that we are making positive steps forward. From my point of view, this band has stepped up to the plate as far as the musicianship. The caliber of instrumentalist now is better than previous years. Less ego and arrogance and more true players. This year brought in more musicians based truly on 2010. Not as big as 2010, but what I hoped would happened happened....the musicianship continues to rise. I say that the band has not yet reached its greatest heights, but with the dedication of the bunch that remains after this past season, they shall far surpass this past decade. The staff and students are all working to uphold and add to the legacy of the band. Stay tuned.
