I've already decided on my major, music education, and the fact that I would like to attend an HBCU for college. However, I would like to know what schools have the top music education programs. I would like to keep FAMU and JSU out the topic, as they are recognized as two of the best (by you guys). But, what other schools are close to those two, or are even better?

I know they get clowned on here sometimes but Grambling State is another good choice. I finally sat down and learned about their school and music program a couple of days ago and its a solid school with a good music education program. I've heard small things about SCSU's but i dont really know much about their program to recommend it.
I think PV's program prepared me well. They have recently made additions to the curriculum to comply with NASM (Nat'l Assoc. of Music Schools) standards. Tennessee St and Norfolk St put out some good people, and they offer masters in music as well.
BCU and Grambling recently expanded or upgraded their music facilities to accommodate their growth.
