Well if you want a more power sound, and a good lower register you need a bigger mouthpiece. By bigger i mean a mouthpiece with a deeper cup. But just make sure you have a well developed embouchure, because if dont you'll have a hard time adjusting to a bigger mouthpiece. Check out Mike Finn Mouthpieces. Those are really nice. But there's not any brand thats the best. You just have to find what works for you.
"Aint" no short cuts around hard work. You're not gonna find a mouthpiece thats gonna magically give you a lower register. I tried to do that when i started, made the mistake of trading my Helleburg for a Loud Mouthpiece. It took me LONGER to just get a strong embrochure. Anyways, if you want a stronger lower register, you gotta get it by...........wait for it.................... PRACTICE.
I play on a helleburg. But also our tubas is gold in fiberglass that can be the problem too huh??
